Although both options would benefit the community, I strongly believe that expanding home care services for senior citizens would be the wiser investment.
One of the main reasons I prefer this option is that home care services would significantly improve the quality of life of many elderly residents. As people grow older, everyday tasks such as preparing meals, taking medication, cleaning their homes, and attending medical appointments become increasingly difficult. Professional caregivers can provide regular assistance while allowing seniors to continue living independently and with dignity. In contrast, residents already have access to beautiful parks such as Queen Elizabeth Park, where children, teenagers, and families can enjoy outdoor activities throughout the year.
Another significant reason I support Option A is that home care services provide valuable support not only to senior citizens but also to their families. Many adults work full-time and cannot always accompany their elderly parents to medical appointments or assist them with household responsibilities. Furthermore, regular visits from trained caregivers reduce loneliness, monitor seniors' health, and provide family members with greater peace of mind. By comparison, many older adults with limited mobility may rarely visit a public park or fully benefit from its facilities.
Overall, Option A is clearly the more compassionate, practical, and community-focused choice. Although a new public park would certainly benefit many residents, expanding home care services would provide essential support to those who need it the most while improving the well-being of entire families.
