Although both activities would provide employees with an enjoyable break from work, I strongly believe that organising a disco night would be the better choice.
One of the main reasons I prefer this option is that a disco night would create a fun and inclusive environment where every employee could participate comfortably. A professionally organised event with live music, colourful lighting, a complimentary buffet dinner, and dancing would encourage colleagues from different departments to socialise naturally and strengthen their workplace relationships. Employees could relax, celebrate their achievements, and enjoy an evening together without worrying about work responsibilities. In contrast, a hiking trip may not be suitable for everyone, as some employees may have knee or back problems, while others may not own appropriate hiking boots or outdoor clothing.
Another significant reason I support Option B is that it is far more convenient and predictable. Employees can simply arrive at the venue after work without making special preparations. Furthermore, an indoor event is not affected by rain, extreme heat, or other unpredictable weather conditions, allowing the company to avoid last-minute cancellations or changes. By comparison, a hiking trip requires careful planning, specialised equipment, and favourable weather, which may reduce participation.
Overall, Option B is clearly the more inclusive, well-organised, and memorable choice. Although hiking offers health benefits, a disco night provides entertainment, convenience, and an opportunity for every employee to celebrate together.
