Prepositions are small but powerful words that show the relationship between
people, places, things, direction, and time.
They help make sentences clear and meaningful.
📚 Common Prepositions
in • on • at • to • from • with • for • by • about • under • over • between • among
1️⃣ In
Use in for:
- Months → in January
- Years → in 2026
- Parts of the day → in the morning
- Countries & Cities → in Canada, in Vancouver
- Enclosed places → in the room
Examples
- ✅ I live in Canada.
- ✅ She was born in 1998.
- ✅ We study in the library.
2️⃣ On
Use on for:
- Days → on Monday
- Dates → on July 1
- Surfaces → on the table
- Public transport → on the bus, on the train

3️⃣ At
Use at for:
